Last night I had a wonderful dinner accompanied by some excellent drink choices.
A litte Gin and Tonic for apertif" and Vhino Verde with Thai Lime Chicken we ate.
Tonight is one of those nights that I truly hate my life.
I really don't know what I am doing. If I thought I had gained some direction or perspective, I have just added more options to the mix; or so it seems.
As I drank my wine last night, I couldn't help but note how much my palate has changed, particularly in the last year.
Is it not just that I am willing to try more, but in trying things repetitively (coffee/espresso namely) my palette has changed. It now prefers tastes and textures and viscousity's that nine months ago, I did not know how to enjoy.
At first glance, this would appear to be purely good, but I too see my danger in it.
A palete that can accompany anything; a personality, I have tamed to accept many things which are not the best for me.
True, my palate has become more refined in what it prefers, perhaps it is here, that I falter in holding standards for myself.
I am so frustrated with this day and the day to follow, that I cannot even follow this thought to completion.
I have been foolish in my pickings.
God, Let this end too.

Wedding Reflections
Refledtions of a Wedding
The whole time I stood up there, it was as if I were outside of it all, I could be creating the drama for what was unfolding.
I find myself again, in the honored position of Brides Maid for a dear friends wedding. This was classic though.
We were the slightly dysfunctional group that movies are made of.
Where I would normally find myself getting stressed, I found a chuckle, a sort of ,"unbelievable," response. With all systems go though, you just have to trust that the essentials are in place and the wedding will in fact, be just fine.
It is true, enough people can pull together, all you need is a few who are clued in about the detail and precision a wedding actually entails. Especially when hosting a wedding with national and international proponents.
Somewhere mid sermon, I found myself making fun of the pastor, "because this was the part that really made him excited."
Yah, we have heard that three times already.
I concluded that he must say that when he needed to buy himself some more time, because in reality, he did not know what he wanted to say next, besides, it is "love that carries us through," Agape love, the greek word, that is.
How anyone can really start to try to explain this love is beyond me, when I here various Christian "leaders" talk about this subject, it sort of makes me cringe.
I guess I have officially moved into the skeptics realm.
Oh I believe love will carry us through, just don't try to preach on God's great love for us in fifteen minutes, it is just too delicate.
On to the young ring-bearer, who has finished his duty of carrying the pillow and passing it off. He now coyily sits in the front row, pumping his veins and mouth with various sugar rewards, like Ratatoulle Pez and fruit by the foot.
Maybe it was all worth it in the end for bashfully bearing the crowd, I can almost smell the fruit by the foot and would like some myself.
The problem with wedding invitations is, you can't change them after they are out. If 10am could really move to 11:30am, that might be perfect.
Or if rehearsal dinner could start at 7pm rather than 6 o'clock, because people still need rides from the airport and directions...
It is Friday evening, raining in Seattle, as darkness falls.
I could only shake my head when pictures started at 9:30 when the start time was 8:15 or when I realized I had not yet my groomsman partner until, well, he met me at the front of the sanctuary in the ceremony. I felt like introducing myself and saying, "hi, nice to meet you."
The reception came with a great relief and turned out quite beautifully. At last, the assurance that everything was done...or wait!!!!
What happend to the marriage license.
Some things get lost easily in the mix.
Till the next wedding, I think I have found a new career. It pays to have an astute wedding planner.
